Etawah Girl ganged raped and Burned by muslim family

The condition of the private tutor, who was allegedly gangraped and set afire in Etawah a few days ago, is fast deteriorating at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Saifai.
The family members have demanded her immediate shifting to AIIMS in Delhi or SGPGI in Lucknow for better treatment. However, additional director general (law and order) Arun Kumar said the shifting was not possible in view of her critical condition and the doctors' opinion.
He said the woman was getting the best treatment at SGPGI in Saifai. He said the case had been registered against accused Farhan and his family members. Efforts were on to arrest them.

Those named in the FIR are Farhan, his father Pappu Mian, Shoiab (brother) Shakeel (uncle) and Sabra (grandmother).

The victim's brother told HT that the accused had been threatening him to withdraw the case and that he had informed the police about the same.

The 20-year-old tutor was gangraped in Etawah, the home district of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, two days ago, the police said on Friday.

She was admitted to SGPGI with 90% burns on Wednesday. Her brother had named the woman’s fiancé Farhan and latter’s four associates for raping and setting her on fire. The complaint also named two women as accused.

Etawah senior superintendent of police Nilabja Choudhury had earlier said there were reports that the woman had set herself ablaze because a dowry demand of Rs. 5 lakh from Farhan’s family had cast a shadow over their marriage.
The woman is a graduate. Farhan is a mechanic, said a police official.
