VARANASI: In fresh incidents of growing crimes against women in the
region, while a minor girl was allegedly raped in Sonebhadra district,
two molestation bids were reported from Jaunpur district.
According to reports, a seven-year-old girl of Hamirnagar under Robertsganj police station in Sonebhadra district was playing outside her residence on Wednesday evening. In the meantime a local resident, Mazid Khan (28), misled the girl and took her inside his house where he tied her mouth and allegedly raped her.
When the girl did not return home till late evening, her family launched a search. In the meantime, it got clue about Mazid and raided his place. They allegedly caught him with the girl after breaking into his room. After a severe beating, Mazid was handed over to the police while the girl was sent to hospital for medical examination and treatment. Police arrested Mazid after registering a case against him.
